Joey proposed to me on the Esplanade along the Charles River in Boston. But that is just the beginning of this perfect engagement.

Joey truly is one-of-a-kind. He planned an engagement that was out of my wildest dreams - something I would have only imagined in a movie. First, he got a phenomenal photographer and videographer.

But then, Joey surprised me with some of our favorite people from around the world (safely though - covid precautions were taken).

First, my parents came out. I was so excited to see them and share the ring with them! My ring includes a diamond from Myrtle's ring (for those of you who know Myrtle and how much she means to me - she lived with my parents and I when I was between the ages of 8-16, and I was able to be by her side when she passed), as well as 2 diamonds from a ring my Grandpa gave my Grandma when they lived in South Africa. Not only is the ring STUNNING, but it is incredibly sentimental.

Then, my best friend and roommate (and my Maid of Honor!), Taylor came out.

Next, was Hope and Trevor, who came from their home in Concord, MA.

Then, Brielle, who came from New York.

Then, Nicole and Meagan, who came from our home-state of Maryland.

Then, Chris and Victoria, who came back from Greece early in order to be there.

And finally, Diane, my longest friend, who came all the way from California, came out. (I was sobbing at this point as you can see from the photos.)

We were also able to FaceTime with Joey's mom, Mrs. Dewey, Joey's sister, Carmie, as well as his Grandma to celebrate with them. We wish they could have been there in person, but it was safer for them to stay in Maryland (thankfully we have been able to celebrate with them in person since then!).

I feel so lucky to have people who would travel (via car or train or plane) to Boston to celebrate with us, as well as people celebrating with us from afar. We were surrounded by so much love.

Joey went above and beyond, as he always does. He is thoughtful, loving, empathetic, inclusive - he is my soulmate and my best friend. I cannot wait to marry him!

The rest of the weekend included a surprise engagement party planned by Taylor and hosted at Hope and Trevor's house - where we were surrounded by even more people we love! We stayed at a beautiful hotel in the Seaport overlooking the water. And we had an intimate brunch at our apartment with those who had traveled far to be there. The entire weekend was planned out - it was romantic, beautiful, incredibly fun, and full of so much love.
